Clear debris from shed base
Tasks and Notes
The shed is built on a post and pier foundation, leaving an open space below the structure. This is a good thing for minimizing water damage from ground seepage and splashback.
However, we did notice a fair amount of debris stored below the structure. This creates conducive conditions for pests, including wood-boring insects and rodents. We recommend clearing out and disposing of it.
If Not Addressed
Pests are more likely to find shelter in abandoned debris piles that provide shelter and, in the case of wood-destroying insects, food. The shed structure is thus at a higher risk of damage from these pests. Fixing that issue could require pest extermination and extensive rebuilding of the affected areas. Those costs could range from $500-$1,500, depending on the extent of infestation and damage.
This is a simple potential DIY project that could require minimal professional involvement. However, professional removal and hauling could cost anywhere from $150-$350. These costs will fluctuate based on the actual conditions the contractor encounters. Request quotes from at least 3 professionals.Mark as complete
